Who says you’re too old to win?

You don’t get much more charming than the Knitting Grandma, the surprise hit guest at last fall’s BlizzCon 2011 WoW Insider Reader Meetup. Remember her? She charmed our staff and meetup guests alike with her dry wit and talk of Thunder Bluff-themed socks.

Today, we press forward from the warm, fuzzy territory covered by the Knitting Grandma with two window-rattling volleys in the battle against gamer stereotypes:

  1. You don’t have to be a granny to knit and playWorld of Warcraft. Even the author of Clique, the preeminent click-casting addon, gets his knit on.
  2. Whether they knit or not, even grannies can be GMs. Of raiding guilds. Who’ve raided since original Molten Core. And top the DPS meters. Wielding Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest. (So yes, that does indeed qualify her to tell you kids to “GET OFF MY LAWN!”)

Who’s out there farming for goodies already!?

The time is finally here! Love is in the air! <LIGHTS> wishes everyone good luck for the Valentine’s holiday weeks. Remember to do your dailies, don’t get discouraged, and, best of all, just enjoy the game!

Ah, love is in the air in the World of Warcraft: sweet flowers, perfume, and sharing gifts with loved ones! But, what’s this? A sinister plot is afoot involving some shady goblin newcomers to the seasonal market—the Crown Chemical Company! It’s up to us to help save Azeroth from their chemically altered goods all while spreading love and appreciation to our faction leaders and fellow players!

Patch 4.3.2 Live Today

It has taken its time, but 4.3.2 is finally hitting servers this week!

A controversial patch, this one introduces gradually scaling zone buffs to Dragon Soul that recall back to the ones Icecrown Citadel had—a 5% buff will be added to the instance for raids who which to take advantage of it. There are also several encounter specific nerfs that aim to allow different raid compositions for the instance’s final heroic modes and several class balance tweaks.

As Blizzard has said prior, this will be the last patch of Cataclysm before a pre-Mists of Pandaria world event, so this patch also marks the beginning of the end for this expansion!

New Year, New Officers

We hope the new year brings you joy, laughter, good times, and good friends. The old year is in the past, and like all past things, we live not for them, but for the future. Looking to the future, we decided to pad our officer ranks, which frankly has been long overdue. With that, we’re pleased to announce the following promotions to officer: Ashiara, Brandonlol, Tachet, and Velanthia. We believe these four will do an amazing job in helping take the guild to new levels in the new year, and we sincerely thank everyone who applied. The choices weren’t easy, but we think they were the best ones. So please, next time you are on, congratulate them on their promotion!

fuckinghasook asked: I'm presently looking for a new server. I'm not able to transfer due to a lack of money, but I can power level a character in three weeks and get it geared too. I was wondering how much raiding your guild does in general and if there were any open slots. I primarily play priests, but I'm willing to class change if the guild needs it. Thanks for your time!

Our guild is not a raiding guild, it’s just a fan guild, mind you; however, we do have a group of people who are getting together and trying to raid a decent amount just to get people up to par with new content and gear. Our main focus in the guild isn’t to raid, but mostly to be social with each other and play the game leisurely. We are open to accept anyone and everyone, though. Good luck on your search for a new server! If you decide Korgath, we’ll definitely be seeing you around!
